| Books or books on tape? | | I have recently gotten some books to listen to in the car. I don't know, it just seems that it is not the same as curling up with a good book. I can't get lost in the story if I am driving along because I have to pay attention to what I am doing. I have been known to sit down and read a 500 page book in one sitting. I guess I read faster than someone can read to me. Do you prefer reading a book or having it read to you? | |
| | What do you like the most: reading to yourself, being read to, or books on tape? | | I like all three. Sometimes I like to hear a dramatic reading by someone else to see their interpretation of the same passage(s). Sometimes I like to hear a book while I'm driving on tape. But most of the time, I like to read it myself so I can concentrate on really getting the meaning out of it. That way I can reread and imagine some passages different ways. Try them out in my mind, so to speak. Which do you like best and why? | |

| Books on Tape? How many of you listen to it? | | When I was growing up, I was a very voracious reader. I would read anything I can get my hands on. However, as I became an adult, I have less and less time to spend on my favorite hobby. It seems that there is not enough time in a day to take care of things, that reading has been pushed into the backburner.Lately, I've discovered Books on tape. Being a regular commuter to work, I started playing Books on tape during my daily drive. It's not really the same as reading, but it is just as enjoyable.I'm curious how many mylotters listen to Books on tape. Please share your experiences, your criteria of choosing them and mayber some favorite titles. | |

| Reading | | Do you enjoy books on tape or CD? I have been "reading" more books this way the last few months because of my weight loss plan. The plan was to do more walking, so I purchased a stack of books on tape to listen while walking. This makes the time go by a lot easier and makes walking more enjoyable. | |
