myLot Discussions on Nobody Lives Forever by John Gardner | | ghosts.. do you believe it? | | I just raised this question because of something i felt after my grandpa died. Few days actually after he was buried, i felt something strange in his house. I was tasked to watch his house since Nobody Lives with except with his loyal wife and help. And since i was having my vacation majority of the family members asked me to stay and watch the house. And so i did. The house is not that haunted-looking after all. My grandma and a help are there anyways.I tried to feel something strange. I wanted to feel my grandpa. I wanted to feel the noises of his daily routine - the racking of the chair, the dragging of the plastic chair and of course, the turning on of the radio with the highest volume. I failed. I didnt feel him.It was not until my younger brother visited me and asked me to stay over the night. I was glad i have someone of my age. We could giggle and laugh all night watching movies. (I was 13 at that time). We watched movies from morning till dusk. And when it was getting darker outside, my younger brother told me to switch on the light. and so i went to where it was located. i was like 3 feet away from the switch when the light...
| | would you want to live in a castle? | | i am in a country full of the things, you can't go anywhere without seeing two or three on the way. now most of them are rather old and while visitors like going round them nobody lives in them. so would you take on one of these castles and live in it? if so what kind of castle would you like?in my case i would rather not live in a castle - they are cold, don't have either double glazing or central heating, the older ones were built when people tended to be shorter even than me, and they are probably full of ghosts[em]shocked[/em]. but that is just me - i'd like to know your feelings... | |

| | Are you afraid of to be alone? | | Afraid to be alone in a strange place you are not familiar with? For example, a house a big one that nobody lives there for a long time.
In my case yes I am afraid to be alone especially houses in provinces I would not allow to be left alone. I'd rather come to my parents or relatives wherever they go.
| | Democratic People's Republic Korea - "North Korea" | | I always wanted to visit North Korea, to see what's really happening there. It's a world's most secret country, te world know very little of what is happening there, how the people is really living there etc. On one side DPRK is propagating that they are a "Worker's Paradise", "The best country to live on the world", on other side we see mostly American propaganda "EVERYBODY starves there", "Nobody lives well there", "The world's most supressed country", etc. I would like to visit DPRK and see at my own eyes how life is there. The problem is that you can't go there as foreginers can go only as tourist group and tourist groups can't go anywhere outside of hotel, just where their "tourist-guides" are guiding them. So, it's imposible to see a real North Korean Life there...What do YOU think of DPRK? | |
| | Advice to women who have memorized the Book of Allaah | | Advice to women who have memorized the Book of Allaah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Praise be to Allaah by Whose Grace all good things may be achieved and by Whose Blessing and Mercy a group of sisters and good women have been able to memorize His Book. We see in them the fulfilment of Allaah’s promise to make the Qur’aan easy to memorize and remember, as Allaah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): “And We have indeed made the Qur’aan easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?”[al-Qamar 54:22] O sister who has memorized the Qur’aan, congratulations! Allaah has used you to preserve His Book on earth. You are one of those through whom Allaah has kept the promise He made when He said (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily We: it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e., the Qur’aan) and surely, We will guard it.”[al-Hijr 15:9] O sister who has memorized the Qur’aan, do not underestimate the worth of what you have done. What is in your heart is knowledge. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Nay, but they, the clear... | |
