myLot Discussions on Roger Moore as James Bond| Which James Bond does meet ian fleming's ideal? | | Take a look at the Ian Fleming's image of James Bond i just uploaded. Than compare it with the actors who performed james bond so far. the actors are: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
I know most of you (including me) think that Sean Connery is the best James Bond so far. And I think we have discuss it several times on mylot or other forums also. And now, let's just analyze the similarity of their faces with the image of James Bond by Ian Fleming.
I think the most similar with the image is Pierce Brosnan or Timothy Dalton, and the least similar is Daniel Craig. What about you. Please feel free to describe your analysis here. Thanks. | |
| | My Name is Bond,James Bond | | From the character introduction in Dr. No to Quantum of Solace, we have various actors playing Mr. Bond. To me, Sean was perfect-not because he was the first. He himself as Bond. No acting really on his part as he fits the shoes well. Roger Moore had a hard time getting used to the shoes of Bond. He had that uppity British look and his Sainthood with that TV series fails to rub off him.You can see him as is trying to impersonate someone in all those James Bond shows he helmed. George Lazenvy was just a simple mistake of bad casting. He just did not have it both in appeal and body size. His role as the spy and scientist was totally unacceptable especially in Scottish kilt and with pipe in mouth. Timothy Dalton was akin to a fush out of water. He felt ill at ease trying to play the lover and trying to play the spy. Pierce Brosnan, with a little bit of Remington Steel still stuck on him did quite a job inspite of his rather slender built. He should have been allowed to act the last two films if not for bad office takings that finished him off. Daniel Craig is too straight,brutal but he delivers the blow as a M15 decoy to play the roulette tables as well as a vengeful spy in Quantum.... | |

| | Which is the best bond movie and the best artiste to play the role of Bond? | | I have been a big fan of bond's movies from a very early age. I remember reading the first Ian fleming novel Dr. No when i was in 8th standard. The detailing of this man; Ian fleming was so amazing that i still remember reading the entire novel at a stretch in a single sitting.That wonderful impression that i had of Ian fleming's beautigul and pulling description was what that pulled me to wtach james Bond movies when i grew up and was in 10th standard. By now, i have watched almost every Bond movie that might ever have been made. But the most gripping of all of them was "From Russia with Love". Having watched various stars play Bond's role; from Roger Moore to Pierce Brosnan to the latest Bond, i still feel that Roger Moore was the one that suited Bond's character the most.What are your guys take on this...? | |
| | If you could be ANY character in a film, what would it be? | | For me personally I would enjoy a 'cameo' role in any of the Star Trek films, amybe an alien who got to meet Kirk or Picard.
Failing that I ouild enjoy being the Daniel Craig version of James Bond, not one of those suave smoothy types like Roger Moore or Brosnan.
